The gîte Les Terres Nères obtained the Label Panda awarded by the Parc National des Pyrénées and the WWF in 2002.

This label guarantees you the enviromental quality of the gîte, and means you will have information available to you about the natural heritage of the area all around the gîte and in the Parc national des Pyrénées.

Gwénaëlle, owner of the gîte is a mountainguide and employee of Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux for the protection of the large birds of prey in the Pyrénées. She will be able to direct you towards some interesting walks where you can observe nature. The binoculars, guide and reference books are available to you.

At the gîte, we recycle our rubbish (garden compost for the organic material, recyclable, non recyclable, batteries  and glass are separated). Two bicycles are available for the little journeys to reach the valley. The light bulbs are low consumption and reduce the consommation of electricity. The water butts catch rain to water the biological garden which has several ancient varieties

The gîte is also classed as a 'refuge LPO', evidence of the frequentation by many species of birds (list below). Feeding dishes and nesting boxes are installed at the property.
